is an imposing colonial “four poster” king size bed room with magnificent views of the golf course, swimming pool, pond and the lush Clingendael’s gardens with an adjoining 450 sq. ft. lounge room, walk-in robe and double overhead shower bathroom.

My wife and I stayed at this truly wonderful place for three days whilst on a bespoke tour of Sri Lanka. We arrived by helicopter, landing at the exclusive golf and country club. The level of service was outstanding. The food, delectable. The rooms, pure luxury. The views, stunning. The staff, amazing. If you want to experience colonial times gone by, a game of croquet on the lawn whilst sipping a gin & tonic or perhaps just relax by the pool, then Clingendael is for you. Pure bliss. Afternoons playing golf whilst my wife enjoyed the hotel spa. A win - win !! It would take too many words to convey how special this boutique hotel really is - so I will sum up with a simple recommendation; Try it for yourself
